The Pampered Chef Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer

Apple Peeler Corer Slicer MachineThe Pampered Chef apple peeler is a bit better than your typical home Apple peeling, coring  and slicing machine.  It has a low price and is built a bit better than other models.

The Pampered Chef machine is advertised to also peel potatoes, but due the simple fact that potatoes are anything but round this tool is not practical for such work.

Pro’s:  The big plus with this design is that it is flat and thus can be stored away a lot easier compared to other similar products, and since this tool might not get used that often the flat design will keep it out of the way when not in use.

Con’s:  The Pampered Chef Apple Machine uses the clamp method and thus you are stuck with doing your task on the side of a counter unless you use the optional box(mount).  Unlike others that have a suction base you are trading a sleeker design for being restricted to working on the side of a counter that you can clamp to or on a box that puts working bit higher on the table.

Factory description:

“#2430 – Peel, core and slice apples or potatoes in seconds with the stainless steel blade! Cuts slices 1/8″ thick. Clamps onto table, counter top or stand. Shown here attached to our Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer Stand.”

I fail to see what advantage the box has. You still have to clamp the box down to
the table with a vice clamp. No way is that box not going to move around.
I tossed my peeler. They hav been made the same way for at least 70 years.

I am looking for something better. Lehmans has one but really spendy.

I could not agree more, the only use if any the box has is to put the unit higher on the table, maybe to make it easier to catch the leftovers when doing a lot of apples? Who knows.

I did a review of the Lehmans apple peeler, will post it. Lehmans peelers only peel, not core and slice. Unless you are talking about their model that duplicates the rest; somehow I think you are not referring to that model…
